Partial Hospitalization Program

Rolling Hills Hospital offers a partial hospitalization program (PHP) for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with mental health and substance use disorder concerns. Adults who participate in our PHP can benefit from structured therapy five days a week.

Partial Hospitalization Program Overview

The partial hospitalization program is an outpatient treatment program that can benefit adults who do not require 24-hour care. Our PHP is more rigorous than intensive outpatient programming or traditional outpatient services but still allows adults to return home in the evening when not in sessions. Our PHP schedule involves therapy for six hours each day, Monday-Friday. The typical length of stay in our PHP is about four weeks.

Adults commonly choose our PHP when they are struggling with symptoms of depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), schizophrenia, or grief. We also provide treatment for those who have a substance use disorder.

Adults can enter our PHP directly, after completing a higher level of care like inpatient treatment, or as a step-up from a lower level of care such as our intensive outpatient program (IOP).

Included Therapies

The PHP at Rolling Hills Hospital incorporates a range of evidence-based therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and experiential therapies. Adults who participate in our PHP can benefit from individual, group, and family therapy sessions.

Group therapy is an essential part of our PHP, with sessions offered several times each day. Group therapy sessions are led by a member of our expert team and cover various topics, including:

  • Resolving grief
  • Identifying triggers
  • Relapse prevention
  • Social skills
  • Communication
  • Coping skills
  • Health and wellness

Those who are struggling with a substance use disorder can also benefit from our detoxification services before entering our PHP. Rolling Hills Hospital offers on-site, medication-assisted detox for those who want to achieve stabilization so that they can begin outpatient treatment.

Our PHP also involves medication management, with medications administered and monitored by our registered nurses.

The Admissions Process

At Rolling Hills Hospital, we have a streamlined admissions process to ensure that you receive the care you need without delay.

Adults can enter our PHP with a referral from the inpatient level of care, an outpatient provider, or themselves. Once a referral is made, adults undergo an assessment to help us determine their mental health history, current mental health status, specific concerns, and goals for treatment.

Once we confirm that our PHP is right for you, we will assign a care team to you that will begin working on your customized treatment plan.
